Designed for life post-pandemic

After many weeks of research, interrogating statistics and reading numerous reports regarding The Future of Work, we have reached the conclusion that high quality, regional coworking facilities like WRAP are likely to be even more relevant post pandemic. We are now targeting January 2021 to open Brighton’s first family friendly coworking space. You can read more about our analysis of the current situation here.

Many of our workspace competitors are simply not designed for life post-coronavirus. Some are hurriedly trying to retro fit air filters, infrared taps, hold-open door mechanisms and plastering the floors with tape to indicate social distancing.

WRAP will be purpose built for life post pandemic. We have been able to totally reassess the design of our space and adapt it to incorporate best practice government guidelines. We have also been able to scrutinise the operational planning of our space, from enhanced cleaning regimes to our desk and meeting room and play center booking systems.

For our members and visitors this will mean a space that puts their and their family’s health, productivity and peace of mind at the heart of everything we offer.

Post pandemic design and operational changes:

Our aim is to ensure that all our members and visitors feel confident that they are in the best possible place for work, childcare and leisure.

We plan to implement the following:

  • Copper door furniture to minimise the amount of time viruses can live on these surfaces

  • Infrared sensors for all wash hand basins, toilet flush and hand dryers.  This means that these fixtures and fittings can be operated with the wave of a hand.

  • Hold open mechanisms for all doors to common areas, minimising the need to come into contact with potentially high touch areas.

  • Pre-booking system for cowork desks to ensure maximum occupancy aren’t exceeded (personal space and occupancy levels will be led by government advice).

  • Regular, thorough and professional cleaning service to all areas of the building, with clearly displayed cleaning registers for all to see

  • Disposable paper mats for hot desks; personal cups and bottles for beverages and face masks for those who wish to use them (or in line with government advice)

  • One-way travel IN and OUT of the building and all rooms (we have 2 staircases, one for entry and one for exit).

  • Membership golden rule - to protect your community, no one comes to WRAP if they feel unwell.

In line with our core value of ‘Listening’ we will be keeping abreast of all developments and constantly developing our space to make it safer. The team is poised and ready to implement any other changes or government advice that comes to light between now and opening!
