An update from WRAP's founders

We hope you are keeping well and managing to adapt to your new roles as teachers, DIYers and home workers in these surreal and unprecedented times.

Coronavirus will no doubt mean huge changes to the way we all live and work and the WRAP space is no different. In some ways, we are in a fortunate position, as we are still able to adapt many elements of the design of the WRAP building. This will allow us to better meet the needs of the health and wellbeing of our members in light of COIVD-19.

As you may have already suspected, WRAP will not be opening this summer due to government rules and guidelines. We are now aiming to open our doors in Autumn/Winter 2020 – fingers crossed! We will be able to update our plans once the lockdown timescales become clearer and we have a better idea of the post pandemic economic landscape.

One silver lining of the postponement is that we may have planning permission in place to allow us to open all parts of the business together. This would mean that from the day of opening we will be able to offer our childcare services as well as our coworking and events space. A very exciting prospect and we look forward to sharing our progress with you in the coming weeks and months.

As it stands, we are in the final stages of the planning process and have recently been negotiating over the type of bike racks we must use. Hopefully, this bodes well!  Our Creative Director Sarah has also taken it upon herself to learn a new skill during lockdown, 3D render design. So far, a few windows have ended up in the middle of meeting rooms – but progress is being made. We hope to be able to share some beautiful images of the space with you all soon.

Despite our disappointment in having to delay the opening of WRAP, we are still as excited and motivated as ever to bring you Brighton’s first family friendly coworking space in 2020. If you have any questions or ideas that you would like to share with us about the space please let me know, we would love to hear from you.

All the best
